Visa Overview

You might be eligible to apply for one of the Skilled Select Visas if you are invited by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection following a successful Expression of Interest (EOI) submitted through Skilled Select.

Skilled Select Visas

1. Business Talent (Permanent) visa

2. Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa.

3. Skilled Independent visa.
This visa is for the skilled worker who achieves the required points in the points-test and are not sponsored by an employer or family member or nominated by a state or territory government. 4. Skilled - Nominated visa.
This visa is for the skilled worker who achieves the required points in the points-test and are nominated by a state or territory government agency. This visa allows you to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident. Click here for free online Visa Assessment.

5. Skilled - Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) visa.
This visa is for the skilled worker who achieves the required points in the points-test and are nominated by a state or territory government agency or sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area. This is a 4 year period temporary visa which allows you to live and work in specified regional areas in Australia. The following three visas can be applied for if you are invited following a Sponsorship or a Nomination by an approved Australian employer.

6. Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457).

7. Employer Nomination Scheme visa.
This visa is for the skilled worker who is nominated by an approved Australian employer for a nominated position. This visa allows you to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident. Click here for free online Visa Assessment.

8. Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa.

Parent Category visas

If you meet the following requirements you may be eligible to apply for a parent category visa.

• You have a child who is an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen, and
• Your child has been living in Australia lawfully for at least 2 years before you lodge your visa application
• You have a sponsor
• the Balance of family test criteria
• health and character requirements.

Spouse/Partner visas
